AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 111.

Of course, if I am honest, I would also let it be known that I am amazed by how my dear mother can.  

Even at this late stage of her life, appears to be still riding the 'ebbs and flows', by appearing to be declining, only to bounce back again. 

Even though the trend, logically, is a downward one.  It would appear that, sometimes when my dear mother seems to be declining substantially, these are more the manifestation of her being ill and not feeling well. 

Rather than anything she is, with appropriate care, not going to be able to recover from.

Even as she steadily decline in her mental, intellectual and physical functioning. 



It seems that my dear mother is able to move down the rungs of each ladder, struggle and adjust to the challenges associated with each of them, and find an accommodate to the life she has to live at the level of that rung. 

Just as how her carers and her family, those who are involved with her, have to find ways and means of managing the  additional challenges they also have to contend with as well. 

Some of the biggest challenges have to do with meeting my dear mother's dietary, cooking and social interaction and stimulation requirements. 

It is very difficult to provide her with foods that she enjoys. Largely because of the 'same old, same old' nature of the foods she is accustomed to.  

As well as her lack of interest in trying out or eating other foods more, and the food not being of the softness and right texture she requires it to be, due to her absence of teeth.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
