JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE GENERATIONAL STRUGGLE AGAINST RACISM. PART 2.

If, however, the struggle against racism were to be predicated on the basis that 'racism' is an ideology based upon the premise that people of one racial or ethnic group are/or were superior to those of another racial or ethnic group.

And that the civil society of the so-called 'superior group' were based upon that ideology and the full or partial enslavement of the other groups in the creation of wealth for the elite group.

And that that ideology and practice, either and/or covertly or explicitly continue to significantly impact the wealth and relationships between the two groups.

Then, in my view, there would be a stronger basis for both groups to work together to help to repair the relationship between the two.

Black people and people of colour, indigenous peoples should not expect that white people are going to be motivated in sufficient numbers to fight for a fair society.

On the basis of feelings of guilt and shame about how some white people - because it was never all white people - have perniciously treated black people in the past.

Neither should they expect that white people will give up any of  their wealth as reparations to existing generations of black people.

For the injurious manner in which their ancestors had been treated by some white people.

To be continued!
