JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW TO SURVIVE DEATH BY DATA PROTECTION POLICY. PART 1.

 

'At what point 'protecting you' becomes a strategy for 'protecting themselves'?

So, there is this saying, 'it is not you', to which one might add, '..then it must be me!' are times when us humans can become so angry about something that we quite literally frighten ourselves.

So angry that we literally loose it, lose our self-control, and would, had the other necessary factors come together, would, regrettably, find ourselves at the mercy of combustible situations.

Yes, unimaginable as it might seem to us in our normal navigation of our daily lives, end up committing tragic acts which would later be considered to have been pointless.

Irrespective of the rage, the at the time, self-perceived righteous indignation which we were feeling.

These are the times when we might say or we should say, we thank our 'lucky star' that all the factors necessary to create the combustible event were not at play, not present.

Such has been my recent experience with a local authority's Data Protection policy.

Now, to be objective, which I am now able to do, as I write this post, it is not really the fault of the Data Protection Policy per se.

As the City Council's staff have told me on every occasion, their Data Protection policy is intended to protect the data, or information they have on their clients or service-users.

It is to prevent unauthorised persons having unauthorised and illegal or unlawful access to that information or data.
