I mean, it is true that over the years I have matured from my own cheekiness and fearlessness, into become the consummate racer of marked humility that I now am. 

But, well, man, I have not said it, but it is damn hard for me not to slap you for snatching that Pole form me. 

So, guess what man, although you are starting on Pole, I am going to snatch this one back from you. 

I am committed to getting something out of this weekend, and, with you having taken Pole, Valtteri, that mean that I must finish the race on P.1.

And so it was that, after what proved, at least to many or most of us, to have been a very exciting Grand Prix, with many exhilarating overtakes by many of the racers.  

Lewis Hamilton put in the sterling performance he to win the Portuguese Grand Prix. 




Having been overtaken by the Intrepid Max Verstappen after the departure of the Safety Car, Hamilton proceeded to overtake both Verstappen and team mate, Valtteri, and comfortably win the race.

He persisted while there were concerns that he would have shredded his tyres, as he relentlessly pursued the Vikingesque, Valtteri around the circuit, lap by lap until the inevitable occurred. 

As Bottas observed during the post race interviews, he, Valtteri, knew that it was going to happen. 

Namely that Hamilton, in his Thoresque perseverance, would have overtaken him in the course of time. Fate, as it were, would not be denied.

It was an enjoyable Grand Prix. A Very Big Congratulations to Team Mercedes and Hamilton and Bottas for making it a P.1 and P.3, and to Team Red Bull and Max Verstappen for making it to P.2. 

Big Thank You to all the fearless racers and their teams for their exciting and entertaining contributions to making the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix the pleasurable event it was.
