FRENCH GRAND PRIX - MAXING AND HAMERING IT : MAX VERSTAPPEN ON POLE!!!!

 

A very Big Congratulations to Teams Red Bull and Mercedes and Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, for making it P'1, 2 and 3, respectively, during the Qualifying session of the 2021 Formula 1 French Grand Prix!!!

From the Practising sessions of this Grand Prix, it has always looked as if the Red Bull stable is not only dominant, but also as if the winds of fortune, the odds of winning the French Grand Prix is blowing in their favour. 

Lewis and his team mate, Valtteri, might have been hoping that this race would see them performing with the kind of results which would have spoken eloquently of 'normal service resuming.' 

But, at least upto the Qualifying session on Saturday, only the Valtteri The Cool, was showing any evidence of this being so, or likely to be so during Qualifying and the actual race tomorrow.

Sunday. And yet, there was a big turnaround for Hamilton, even if it was not big enough to give him Pole. 

Indeed, considering how he had struggled and the battles he and Car 44 have had during Practice 1-3, his achievement of P.2 during Q3, was nothing short of being a victory. 

Something which does not give him the advantage of leading the race at the beginning, but does provide him with the opportunity to fight to take the lead from Max, at the earliest safe opportunity he gets to do so.

So, what kind of race are we in for tomorrow, Sunday 21st June 2021? Well, considering what has gone on during Practice and Qualifying, it could, should be an exciting, if rather unpredictable race. 

The race pundits on Sky have it that it should be an head to head between Team Mercedes and Team Red Bull, with the odds apparently first being given to the Red Bull camp, before a period of uncertainty prevailing. 

Later to be replaced with the odds seemingly swaying towards Team Mercedes, following Hamilton and Car 44 coming back into the reckoning.

There is certainly a certain ebb and flo between the competitive strengths of the two top camps. 

However, as we have seen during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, there are other strong racers and cars in this Formula 1 pack.  

And all they need to excel or attempt to excel, is the incentive of the Gods and fate intervening unfavourably against the top teams.

I will not be gambling on who and which team will or might win this Grand Prix. Both Max and Lewis have alot running on this race, with Lewis needing to win it to retake the Championship lead from Max. 

But, more importantly, both of them and their teams need to end the race on the Podium, in order to maintain the strength of their Championship challenge.
