AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX - MAXED BY TEAM RED BULL, AS TEAM MERCEDES REMAINED TORTOISED !!!

A Very  Big Congratulations to Team Red Bull and Max Verstappen  for having made it another Formula 1 Win at the Austrian Grand Prix.

And to Team Mercedes and Valtteri Bottas, for making it to P.2, and to Lando Norris and Team Mclaren for making it to P.3.

Even though it might have been P.2 for Norris, had his race not been hampered by a seemingly overly harsh, if not questionable 5 second penalty for what seemed like a racing incident between him and Sergio.

Hamilton failed to make it to the Podium as his Car 44 and became even more pedestrian, as a result of  some damage it reportedly suffered navigating the prickly curbs of the Red Bull Circuit.

As we celebrate Red Bull's renaissance and Max Verstappen's now seemingly relentless and consistent progress towards maintaining his dominance in the 2021 Drivers Championship battle, it is hard not to spare a thought for Hamilton's fate so far.

It does not really matters that Lewis 'Polist' Hamilton is already a 7 times Formula 1 Driving Champion, of that he has won an incredible number of Poles during Qualifying.

No, none of that seems to matter in causing, leading us to feel how we do feel, when we see Hamilton struggling in a racing car which seems to be in the throws of terminal decline.

It is something which feeds Hamilton's detractors; those who have not or will not allow themselves to accept that he is one of a kind.

That he has been fated to, so far, go where no other Formula 1 racing driver has gone before.

Those who do not want to accept or are denying that, just as how Hamilton has been blessed to have achieved his sterling achievements, so have they also been blessed to be alive to witness the experience.

On the other hand, for those of us who admire Lewis Hamilton for his arguably unsurpassable achievements and contributions towards the Formula 1 industry, seeing him struggling with a broken and underperforming Car 44 is too much poignancy.

It is not something we can psychologically accommodate, and we suspect that it is also not something Hamilton can adjust to; atleast, not for much longer.

Yes, it is a fate which been meted out to Sebastian Vettel, a fellow racer and 4 times Driver Champion who is now a much respected friend of the great man himself.

Is is a fate that Seb has not yet recovered from, after all these years. But it is one that he seems to have come to terms with and persists in his racing career, though at a lower level of esteem than in his dominant years.

With Hamilton seemingly coming to the end of his Mercedesian racing career.

He should not, even in the worse case scenario of Max and Red Bull remaining dominant for the rest of the 2021 Formula 1 season, have to spend the long years that Vettel has had to spend in the wilderness years of Formula1.

For now, however, we only have to wait for another several days for the British Grand Prix.

When we should know whether Hamilton and Bottas and Team Mercedes will break the Verstappen and Red Bull magic or curse, to take the honours, or whether the Verstappenian rocket will simple continue in its dominant fashion.
