JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE GENERATIONAL STRUGGLE AGAINST RACISM. FINIS.

Even if these stereotypes have become personified and take on a life of their own. 

So much so that people, even those subjected to being stereotyped, seem to be at ease with, and perceived of themselves in the stereotypical imagery.

Black people can, and should, legitimately reprimand white people for having stereotypical perceptions about 'what black people are like.' 

At the same time, black people need to be challenged and made to reflect, when they carelessly and hurtfully.

My concluding comment on the matter of the generational struggle against racism, is this.

Namely that nobody should be under the illusion that racism, real and imagined,  will or can be defeated by in any generation. 

As long as humans continue to exist, racism, like poverty, wealth, sickness and health, will persist. 

In this or that generation, the impact of racism might be felt at a lower or higher level, but it will continue to exist. 

Like the tide of the ocean, there will be times when it will be least or little felt.  And then there will be other times when it will feel as if there is no hiding place from its virulence. 

But life will continues and there will be bad times and good times and times when things are finely balanced. 



There will never be any time when all the people shall be happy and contented, or be sad and unhappy. 

Because, happiness is the companion of unhappiness, and sadness is the companion of joyfulness. 

Just as how fairness is the companion of inequality, and racism is the brethren of racial equality. Just as sexism and misogyny are the companions of gender equality. 

Wherever you find the one, the other is likely to be implied, if not explicitly on display.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
