ITALIAN GRAND PRIX - RARE WIN FOR RICCIARDO AND MCLAREN, AS HAMILTON AND VERSTAPPEN CAME TO GRIEF!! PART .1.

'It is likely to be the case that every misfortune, every tragedy or adverse event, though presenting challenges for those on whom they fall, also opens the doors to opportunities for others to benefit from them.'  

At the extreme of examples, we see births opening opportunities for midwives. 

Sickness opening opportunities for medical practitioners and those involved in the manufacturing of medicines and medical equipment.  

And, at the other end of the life cycle, we see death providing opportunities for those in the funeral industries. 

The bad that some people do, also create opportunities for others to redress.

In the realm of professional sports, namely Formula 1 Grand Prix, we have the example of crashes involving the leading contenders.  

Creating opportunities for other competitive racers to gladly take hold of the unexpected good fortune that fate has thrown to them. 

And convert it into winning the race, and/or promoting themselves to positions they would not have otherwise achieved.





And so it was for Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris and Team McLaren, during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, on 12th September 2021.  

When Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton took the practice of 'fatal distraction' too far, and had another 'fatal embrace', which took both their cars out of the race.

So, A Very Big Congratulations to Ricciardo and Norris and Team McLaren, for making it to P.1 and P.2 respectively, and to Valtteri Bottas and Team Mercedes for achieving  P.3, to complete the Podium line-up.

This has been atleast the second time during the current season, that a Grand Prix has been won fortuitously by a race who was not expected to win it. 

The chances are that it might not be the last time, as there are still 7 or 8 races to go; enough time to for adrenaline to suppress the normal functioning of cerebral cortex. 

If even for a fraction of a second, since that is all it needs to make the decision to back out of a too high risk manoeuvre, or to continue along a given trajectory and have a race-ending crash.
