JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE CASE FOR HAVING CHILDREN! PART. FINIS...

 

This is probably the very reason why ancient and more traditional and collectivistic societies became more preoccupied, not with whether or not a male loves a female.  

But rather with the imperative of the survival and growth of the family, the clan, the tribe, by finding partners for their young men and women. 

These are objectives which are achieved through the biological interaction between male and female, and not predicated upon whether they 'love each other.'

With a bit of contemplation, it is not difficult to understand and appreciate how this basic protective system of protecting 'the family,  has, in time, expanded into 'the village', 'the clan', 'the tribe', the 'nation' and 'the country' which we now have. 

Of course, what it has also done, is to promote the survival of our human species.

Having children and more children has increased the hands and feet to be harnessed to the plough and its precursors. 

It has provided more men to fight more wars and create and expand empires. 

And, as industrialisation takes of, more children have provided more workers to increase a nation's workforce, and enable or facilitate their goals of establishing and expanding their economic dominance.

The imperative now, is that of keeping the system or machine of human existence going. It is about ensuring its survival. 

And for those of us, which might be most of us, who, from time to time, pose the question : 

'What is the purpose of human, or our lives; what is the point of our being, of our continuing to live'? 

The answer, I believe, I think, is very simple and straightforward. The answer is that the purpose of our human existence, is to maintain our survival, so that our species can continue to do what we are doing. 

To learn and take over all the specialist, skilled and non-skilled operative roles which our species have made essential to maintain and/or facilitate our continuing survival.

Which is essentially to keep the wheel spinning in its circular, revolving motion. Probably just like the stars and the planets. 

And this, we can only do by continuing to have children to replace us in this, if objectively evaluated, rather pointless and involuntary pursuit.
