THE RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX - THE TRIUMPH OF HAMILTON AND TEAM MERCEDES, AS LANDO NORRIS AND MCLAREN ARE BEACHED!!!

Big, Big Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton and Team Mercedes for sculpting, engineering a Win at the Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi Circuit on Sunday 27th September 2021.

A Big Congratulations, also, to Max Verstappen and Team Red Bull, and to Carlos Sainz and Team Ferrari for making it P.2 and P.3, respectively.

And Massive Commiserations to Lando Norris and Team McLaren, for not having made it to P.1 or P.2.

Primarily, it seems, because they hag gotten their communications and strategy terribly wrong, in their response to the rain downpour during the last few laps of the race.

Which resulted in Norris being caught out with the wrong tyres to maintain his race lead.

And creating the fortuitous opportunity for Lewis to take the lead, and Max to promote himself to P.2.As Norris drifted backwards and finally held on at P.7.

A situation which was not massively different to how Hamilton's late tyre change, coupled with his accident while pitting, deprived him of a probable Pole.

The Russian Grand Prix transpired or developed into being what could be described as a thrilling, indeed, probably the most exciting Grand Prix of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

At lest, so far, as, with the season not being any longer persistently dominated by the big guns, or, rather, mean machines of Team Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferarri, the outcome of races cannot be predicted with any certainty.

Not only did Lewis won the race, but he also created another F.1.A history by being the first Formula 1 racer to win 100 races; 9 more than the Great Michael Schumacher.

A Massive Congratulations to you, Lewis, on this probably unsurpassable - except by you - achievement!

We will never know whether Hamilton would have succeeded in racing down and overtaking the, yes, Hamiltonesque Lando Norris.

During the last 3 laps of the race, as fate again intervened by decreeing that the Rain God should pour more rain down on Sochi during those crucial laps.

But it does not matter, really, because it was done, and it appears that it was fated that Hamilton were to win  the 2021 Russian Grand Prix, as he had won others before.

It was just a matter of how he was destined to win it, after his several mishaps during Qualifying.

One other very satisfying aspect of the race was that of observing Verstappen putting in another sterling driving display, and then hearing Lewis, not only referring to Max in amicable terms.

But also sharing the Podium with his and subjecting him to a champagne shower.

It was not a display that speaks of peace in our time, but it could be indicative of the seeds of peace being planted.

And now are we looking forward, with much anticipation, to the Turkish Grand Prix, to not only see how the championship battle between Hamilton and Verstappen develops.

But also to be entertained by all and any of all the racers participating in the spectacle. A Big Thank You to all and each of you, guys!!
