ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX QUALIFYING - FIRST STRIKE TO VERSTAPPEN AND TEAM RED BULL, WITH POLE, BUT.....!

.... the winner of the 2021 Formula 1 Driver's Championship is still undecided.

Yes, winning a battle in a 'war', unless it can be considered and is 'the decisive battle', may give the winner an advantage in the eventual outcome of the war, or campaign, but it does not normally foretell who will be the eventual winner.

And so it is, in this the final battles of the current Championship campaign between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, and their respective teams.

By using a tactical team strategy involving his team mate, Perez helping him, Verstappen, to create conducive vortex he needed to help catapult him to Pole position, in the Abu Dhabi Yas Marinas Circuit.

Team Red Bull has undoubtedly placed Max and themselves in an advantageous position to begin the race on Sunday.

Winning that race, however, is something quite different from taking Pole during Qualifying. Especially in a Championship-deciding race such as this one.

There are simply too many qualifications which have to be met, before we can, with reasonable credibility, say which of the two contenders for the Championship title will have the sunniest smile on his face tomorrow.

Yes, it will be down to  such factors as, which of the contenders will perform best tomorrow; which team has and effectively implement the best race strategies and tactics?

As well as other factors, such as which racer, Hamilton or Verstappen, has the best start, and is able to avoid any unwelcomed embrace/s from fellow racers?

And, of course, which of the contenders, if any, were to benefit from or be disadvantaged by any undesired intervention from the gods and fate.

Whether Verstappen will be able to convert his Pole advantage into a race win, or whether we - the Lewisites or Hamiltonites - shall be blessed to see Hamilton pull off one of his classic Exocet-like starts.

And snatch and hold the lead at the start of the race, shall be revealed on Sunday.

As we await the showdown, the finale, the final throw of the dice, as it were.

Let us Say, A Very Big Congratulations to Verstappen and Team Red Bull, and to Hamilton and Team Mercedes, for coming in at P.1 and P.2, and to Lando Norris and Team McLaren, for making it to P.3, respectively, during Q.3.

And as for who might win the Championship, on Sunday, tomorrow. Well, both contenders could be said to have equal chances.

Neither of them need to win the Grand Prix, though both of them must finish it, to remain in contention, with the racer who achieve the most points becoming the 2021 Drivers' World Champion.

Let it be a clean, safe and professionally executed race, one where, at the end of it, both the racer who won, and he who did not win, can shake each others hand, and, if the spirit of brotherhood shines upon them, even profer each other a fraternal hug.
