JUST A THOUGHT ON - 'THE THING WITH SOME OR MOST MEN IS THAT....' FINIS...!

  

And so it would seem, that men are not able to expunge the tendency towards violence from our hearts or our minds. 

We might succeed in delaying conflicts, to even prolong this delay to the extent that we might lull or come to believe that we have done it. 

That we have given up on conflicts and wars and have achieved 'lasting peace.' 

But this is no more than that, a believe, and one which is fated to be fractured and give way to more conflicts and wars. 

I mean, we are now evidencing just that, in some African, Middle East and Asian countries. 

Even as we are witnessing Russia and Western Europe seriously indulging in the build-up and posturing for military conflict. 

With Ukraine being the designated reluctant and/or willing host to the 'on-the-ground' conflict.

Even as we are observing Yemen being systematically destroyed by Saudi and UAE forces.

Even as we continue to witness countries such as Nigeria, Niger, Mali, the oddly named Democratic Republic of the Congo continue to be immersed violent conflict.

How can we not pose the question: Is man and a perpetual proponent of destruction of life and things, and is he not therefore the worst and most powerful predator now roaming the Earth and threatening it with utter destruction? 

As far as faunal and floral life is concerned? And, having asked the question, who can, or, indeed, would oppose the assertion that the answer is an emphatic 'yes'; Man is the biggest destroyer.

And so it is seems that, unfortunately, we are doomed. Not in the sense that it is our collective destiny to all die. But because, while men continue to exist, it must, it should be taken as a given that our species - and others - shall be cursed to live in misery.  

Because of this thing with men to continue to create the contexts and situations which will lead to, and 'justifies' violence and wars.
