JUST PHILOSOPHING ON : SOME OF WHAT I HAVE LEARNT FROM LIFE! PART 1.

Life, it could be said, is both a blessing and a curse. It is the fate of all contemplative primate to have experience of both the blessing and the curse that life, living is. So, what have I, in my decades of living, learnt about living?

Let me begin by briefly explaining my concept and experience of this thing called 'life', as I have so far lived it. So, for me, 'life' is that finite but limited extendable conscious space between the birth of a human and his/her death or transition from organic to inorganic matter.

Experientially, life is for living, but how shall or should we live it? Is there any specifically way in which us humans should be living, and if so, what or how is that, and who or what formulated the concept of how we should live?

In having an understanding of how us humans should live, we can begin to form a view from observing how us Earthlings, both higher order lower hierarchy primates and other creatures live. Or we can look to the philosophical - both religious and non-religious - theories argue or postulate.

It seems to me that, in some respects, the way I have observed us humans living in different parts of the world, makes for too harsh, too severe and too difficult a life to live.

Living life naturally, as it were, tells us that life is indeed full of ups and downs, happiness and unhappiness, sadness and joy, hunger and satiation, fulfilment and emptiness, predictability and uncertainties.

It, normal or natural life, is about a certain amount of randomness about what will or might happen, and what might not.

The wished for or idealised life for which we aspire, on the other hand, is one which the different philosophical theories and beliefs claim they have 'the prescription' for.

It is the way of, 'if you do these things and avoid doing those things', then you will have a happy life; a fulfilled life of abundance.

The philosophical and religious approaches promise that our lives can be more  predictable, balanced, secure and stable; providing we observe and abide by the rules, the rituals, etc.

To be continued!
