JUST A THOUGHT ON - IF I WERE A MAN, OR, INDEED, WOMAN OF THE CLOTH, HOW WOULD I BE ABLE ...? PART.5

 

..to live with myself, if I were to find, or admit that have misled 'the flock'?  

Then they should review and change what they have been asserting. As this would be the responsible and honest thing to do.

So, when the people of the cloth, having the evidence,  the knowledge and/or information, that their acclaimed religious 'truths', doctrines or dogmas which they and their ancestors have been selling, preaching to the masses for hundreds of years. 

Is eclectic fictitious myths which have been carefully and conspiratorially accumulated and processed. But still continue to proclaim that it is authentic and sacred truths, what motive can they have for doing so?

What motive can these clergies have for continue to act in a manner which not only perpetuate the clerical injustice of their predecessors in persecuting, torturing and killing innocent men and women in the past, who were more enlightened than they were?

It certainly cannot be said that these men and women of the cloth are being intellectually and/or morally objective and reasonable. 

That they are being swayed by the force of rational argument or reason, when they are clearly acting contrary to scientific evidence. 

After all, they are already believers, so it is not a situation whereby they can proclaim that they will examine the evidence and the arguments for and against and make a decision on what to believe and preach. 

More likely, their motive is premised on 'principles of self-preservation.' 

It is about how to maintain the continuation of their particular religion and religious world-view. 

It is not about carrying out a honest and rigorous research and analysis of the history of their particular religion, and then forming a view about what action to take to objectively reflect the outcome of their enquiry. 

Rather, it is about carrying out specific research which is likely to provide the clergy - Christian, Islamic and Jewish - with the outcome, 'the evidence' which will appear to validate or authenticate 'the divine nature' of their religion.
