AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX - A BREATH OF FRESH AIR, AS RED BULL TOOK THE HONOURS AND TEAM MERCEDES MADE PAINFUL GAINS!!

So, after the Miami and Monaco grand prix, we, the fans and audiences of Formula 1 were blessed to have the opportunity to enjoy and exciting and classic grand prix at iconic Baku Circuit in Azerbaijan on Sunday 12th June 2022.

Yes, once again, it was no surprise that that the two leading teams and their esteemed racers had again dominated Qualifying and the race.

Until, that was, Ferrari suffered another of their too frequent car unreliability problem which saw both of the cars failing to make it to the end of the race, being the ones to follow.

With Team Red Bull and their racers, Verstappen and Peres coming in at P.1 and P.2, and Team Mercede's Russell completing the Podium.

While Hamilton came in with a hard won and much deserved P.4. As well as, for the second consecutive grand prix, being voted 'Driver of the Race.'

Having to contend with the body torturing car setup of their cars, and the still significant race pace disadvantage with Red Bull and Ferrari.

Russell and Hamilton had performed admirably during the race, and, for the first time during this season, had sent a clear message to the RB and Ferrari duo, that they are 'coming to get them.'

It might have been the case that, Charles Leclerc having been out-started by the rocketing Verstappen during the first several metres of the race and deprived of his hard won Pole.

Was indeed bad omen of the worse fate which was to befall the Ferrari racers and their cars by the half-way stage of the race.

However, before the event, which would have left Leclerc massively frustrated, there was insufficient evidence to draw such a precipitous conclusion so early in the race.

As both Carlos Sainz and Leclerc were racing strongly, up to the point where the proverbial 'wheels came off', and their cars gave up the ghost.

A Very Big Congratulation to Team Red Bull and Verstappen and Perez, for making it to P.1 and P.2, and to Team Mercedes and Russell for making it to P.3.

Also a Very Big thank you to all the participating racers and their teams, each and all of whom have done their bit to make the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix one of, if not the most exciting we have had  to date this season.

With all 3 racers continuing to demonstrate commendable consistency in finishing in the top positions, sofar.

And, as we go into the Canadian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen leading the still badly trailing Team Mercedes' racers by 51 and 88 points, I dare to pose the question:

Could Russell and/or Hamilton find themselves competing with the current Red Bull and Ferrari Triumvirate for the Driver Championship?

It could be an ask too much, but for the answer, let us check Team Mercedes: What do you say, Toto Wolff?
