JUST A THOUGHT ON - IF I WERE A MAN, OR, INDEED, WOMAN OF THE CLOTH, HOW WOULD I BE ABLE ...? THE END !!

 

Thus religious life continues as if there is not insurmountable and valid evidence that it is based on fiction, on myth, instead of fact and history. 

Conscientious and intelligent men and women of the cloth, still continue to perform religious rites and rituals and make pronouncements about 'God', as if he really exists and has any objective relevance to us humans. 

Beyond that which religion has deceptively attributed to him by our ancestors, and reinforced by the present clergies. 

The motivation, now that the evidence is there for those who are courageous enough to examine it, and then go on to making the necessary changes it warrants, can only be that of continuing to deceive the masses. 

It has to be at least in part, probably primarily so, about being loyal and faithful to the errant and, in some cases, deliberately conspiratorial apostles, priests, disciples, et al by refusing to acknowledge 'the truth' about the 'holy gospels.'  

The truth being that it is all a big lie, and has nothing inherently to do with any 'living god', as it were.

That the ancient 'sacred and divine legitimisation' of these monotheistic religions, can no longer rationally hold sway in the 21st Century. 

Even if the 'cultural and social legitimization' which they have acquired over hundred and thousands of years, coupled with their 'political and economic legitimisation', has now become seemingly even more powerful in promoting their survival.

The fact is that it is and has been most probably the biggest deception perpetrated on our species. 

This act of continuing to deceive the masses into continuing to believe the fictitious religious myths which have been handed down from generations to generations.

And in the process, billions of people throughout the ages, have had their lives blighted and or harmed by religious edicts and beliefs.

But probably the most critical disservice I would consider myself to have made or be at risk of making, were I a man or woman of the cloth. 

Is that of preaching about the promise of 'eternal life' or 'paradise' 'after death', for the faithful or 'godly', only for it 'to be found not to be so', by those who have passed. 

Even if, looked at rationally, it could be argued that even people who believe in life after death, will not really have lost anything, as they will not be aware of anything once they are dead. 

Arguably, they will not have gained or loss anything, since they no longer exist after death. And will therefore not be able to reflect on the kind of life they might or could have lived, had they not been 'religious believers and devotees.'

Of course, the same could be said of the 'men and women of the cloth', who have mislead and deceive the faithful. Since, their death will also spell the end of their own existence.

This fact, however, should not be used to mitigate the injustice which is being perpetrated by the men and women of the cloth; the clergies of all theistic faiths.
