IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 62.

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' The purpose of his incarceration was primarily to punish him for the offences for which he was convicted.  If his time inside also succeeded in helping to reform him and turn him away from pursuing a life outside of the law, that would be good, but it was not the primary reason for giving him the long sentence he was given.  Kazaliwa had to resolve to be tough, very tough, if he was to survive his time inside, without it, yes, fucking him up too badly.  And probably leading to him pursuing the same lifestyle after he leaves prison.  He had to be both mentally, psychologically and physically strong.   Being less empathetic towards other might serve him better than being too e

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 93.

Image
My dear mother, of course, having lived to attain the grand age of 100, would have experienced and inculcated the kind of values, morality and lifestyles which would have made her into a person with a strong character.  Not for her the more contemporary or 'modern' and convenient  'wear and change value-system' which came later.  Hers is the character which says 'God exist', and would probably never consider questioning that 'received reality', in light of more upto date knowledge, and the irony of her having had so much unhappiness in her long life.  My morality is the kind that says, the fact that she has in some cases been dealt such a bad hand is proof that their is no God. My dear mother, you could say, has learnt how to out-smart the opposition, sometimes.  So, it probably should not be so surprising that my dear mother appears to have brought her often declared dissatisfaction with her care workers to an head.   By contriving a situation which has

'If we hold onto a thing or idea beyond its time, then we will prevent the birth of something more useful, more relevant.  This is a dilemma for the world's religions, as their doctrines become increasingly irrelevant and they refuse to make way for the evolution of human thought.' Religion and the belief in 'god' have been around for probably thousands of years before what we could define as the establishment and development of  the modern political and scientific estates.   As such, and having to operate in the highly restrictive and oppressive religious conditions and environment they were set,  they were not able to compete successfully with the religious or First Estate.   Had emperical evidence and logic been allowed to be the guiding principles underpinning the competition.   Then, probably most of the major scientific developments which occurred after the French Revolution of 1789, might have taken place decades, if not centuries earlier.  If only the pace

SPANISH GRAND PRIX ONE - HAMILTON AND TEAM MERCEDEDCES MADE IT POLE!

Image
Big Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton and Team Mercedes and Valtteri Bottas for making it to P.1 and P.2. In the first of the two Spanish Grand Prix scheduled for this Coronaviral 2020 Formula 1 Season.  In making it to Pole by virtue of having laid down what was to proved an unbeatable penultimate lap during Q3, Hamilton has followed his team mate's precedent in the qualifying session of an earlier Grand Prix he Poled this year. The lesson to be learnt from this event, in the Qualifying session of a Grand Prix, is that a driver, during any of the Q3 laps.  Should never become complacent and place all or even most of his - come the pleasing day when I will be able to have to add her, in as sentence like this - his reserve and hope for the last lap.  The standard for Q3 laps should, ought to be, to race all laps as if it was the last one.  Conversely, during the Grand Prix race, the guiding principle should be that you never race as if you are fated to lose. At least until after t

And then, as our species continue to evolve, and our intellect increases it development and we begin to reflect and project our thoughts over the universe.  Our ancestors and us begin to try to make more sense of our world, our universe. An awaking which led to us embarking upon the comprehensive study of our world and giving birth to what would become the sciences.  The basic ingredients of what would enable us to study not only what we could see, feel, touch and eat.   But also the materials that made them, and draw conclusions about other things which we could not see, but causes us thing, based on what we could see and know.  We, us humans, have arrived at what could be called, allegorically spe

Weighing up both and making informed decisions about when compromises are required, and what compromises are likely to result in the greatest benefit to all the parties involved in the enterprise. At this most senior stage of my dear mother's life, this question of 'getting the right balance' is seeming to be more critical.  She functions alot, if not mostly, in the context of her perceptions, experiences and conclusions about the world, and her home being her universe.  She is showing a marked penchant for not being able to take other people's or the other's perceptions and views into account when there is a perceived difference between her views and theirs. The fact that her pots and pans get banged about, burnt during cooking and are scratched during washing, brings her great stress.  She cannot see how these things could happen, and it inflames her attitude and causes her great worry.  So much so that she continues to react in a manner which risk losing her care
