WOULD GOD LOOK ON THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ANY LESS OR MORE FAVOURABLY, IF IT HAD AN ATHEIST PRESIDENT?

So, the question is this: Would god look on the United States of America any less or more favourably, if it had an atheist President?

This might seem an interesting and even shocking question, but it is not really so. It is somewhat similar to me posing the question: 'If the devil were to retire, would it make any difference between the level of evil in the world in the past and now, and after the devil's retirement?

Yes, the answer would be the same; no, it would not make one iota of difference, as the saying goes, and neither would it make any material difference if an atheist who believes in the 'democratic values' which Americans say underpinned their country's persona, were to become the President of the United States of America.

It would, of course, remove the need for such a president to mouth the pointless refrain, "god bless America", and it would also most probably make the deliberations of the American government less given to pious but empty references to god this and god that, and give more acknowledgement to what is the fact; namely that it is humans who are in charge and who rule the world, and not any god. Unless we humans were to be acknowledge ourselves, as being the only god there is, and will probably ever be.

Let us face it; is America not the truest embodiment of Darwin's evolutionist theory that life is about the 'survival of the fittest and strongest'? Of course, by that standard, we could even argue that America, collectively, is god.

After all, does not the Christian Bible, in the Book of Genesis, quoted god as saying they made man in their own image, and later on, voiced alarm that man might become like them, eat of the tree of life and live forever?

So, no, I do not believe, neither do I see any evidence that god, as a sentient deity, would look on the United States ant more or any less favourably than he/she/it is supposedly doing now, as he is not having anything to do with it, or, indeed, any other country at present. How could god be, when there is no god except us; humans?

Yes, we are on our own and have been for thousands of years.Whatever we make of our lives and the world, be it for good or evil, is all up to us, and there is no need for us to give credit or discredit to the imaginary or artificial gods we have created. It is more than likely that, the more atheistic we as humans become, the more peaceful and enlightened will be our worldview and living.

The progress humans make is of their own making, just as how our frequent regression into our violent and destructive past behaviours is also of our own making,
