A THOUGHT FOR NOW - THE SYRIA PROXY AND PROPAGANDA WAR AGAINST THE SYRIAN STATE AND RUSSIA THE END.

Even with the violent outrages and  military victories by Isis and Daesh, in both Syria, Iraq and Europe, the West remain true, or publicly, appears to be remaining true to its original narrative. Ignoring the massively changed geo-political landscape which makes its original narrative and raison detre' for a position which no longer makes any sense, except in a machiavellian context.

The objective of the West - namely the British, the French and the Americans - is still to get rid of the Syrian government, at any price, including the death of however many Syrians, innocent or combatants. And, in order to do this, they have gone into overdrive with their propaganda war. They have, it would appear, garnered all the relevant organs of the UN, voluntary organisations, NATO, and the mainstream media, to demonise the Syrian Government and their Russian, Iranian, Lebanese and other allies.

There are times when it is difficult to tell which is real situation and which is a reflection.

And, in this, they are relentlessly appealing to the emotions of the public, by exploiting all and every tragic death and destruction, much of which are inescapable realities of any war. In their invasion of Iraq, the Americans depopulated Fallujah, so that they could destroy or force the surrender of the fighters who had taken it over. In the current fight to retake Mosul, the Americans and the west consider it necessary for the non-combatant population to be removed, so that the Iraqis can fight Daesh.

But not so, with the Syrian government wanting to clear the rebels out of the eastern part of Aleppo and shorten this vicious war. Thus we have the undiplomatic approach of one UN chief's emotionally appealing to the emotions of the UN, and, it seems, the Syrians and Russians, in particular, about the need to save Aleppo? It is logistically a smaller challenge to remove the innocent people of eastern Aleppo from their devastated neighbourhoods, than to remove the civilian population of Mosul. That, however, did not stop the UN from helping to make the necessary preparations for the latter to happen. So, why is the UN, and this UN chief in particular, so committed on keeping the civilian population in eastern Aleppo, and in harms way?

It is not always the case that the edges are as solid as the overall body; so proceed cautiously before consuming what the media, any media, tries to feed you. Think source; think motive.

Could it be that the UN is becoming complicit in an American and NATO plan to use the civilian population of eastern Aleppo as human shields for the rebel fighters located there?
And, if so, by what moral authority do they attack and label the Syrian, Russian and their allied forces "barbarians", when, in fighting the rebels, they kill and injure innocent civilians?

It seems to me that none of the forces and their foreign backers, fighting in the Syria proxy war, have any unassailable moral authority, since they are all involved in the killing and maiming of fellow human beings. Inasmuch as this war has to be fought, any 'justification' has to be made on a 'legal basis.' In this respect, the Syrian Government is fighting to retain its sovereignty and independence from being occupied by foreign powers. In prosecuting this objective, it has sought the support of the Russians and the Iranians and others, which, arguably, it at least has a right to do. This places, in my view the Americans, British, French and their allies in the wrong.

The west is no less, in fact, it is arguably more of, a demon in its role in Syria. The fact that its propaganda is proving so potent, is not because of the moral or legal merit of its position, but because of the subservience of its population and the power of its ability to manipulate the media in spinning its position. There is, for the media, a perception that that the west is nearly always 'right.'

In endeavouring to live your life as best you can, do not assume that 'our side is always right' and 'their side is always wrong.' The 'truth' is probably never straightforward, in fact, be suspicious of anybody or any establishment that is making it out to be so. Question all things; irrespective of its source.
