LEWIS HAMILTON AND NICO ROSBERG - BREAKING NEW! PART 1

As a Mercedes Formula 1 fan, and Lewis' and Nico's fan in particular, I am loathed to see either Nico or Lewis disrespect or behave towards each other in a manner which is unbecoming of what I believe to be honourable and lacking in humility. That does not mean that I do not enjoy when Lewis beats Rosberg, fairly, or appreciate Nico's mastery when he beats Lewis.

But it does grieve me when I see either of these Formula 1 Champions behave in what I consider to be a dishonourable or pedantic and unnecessarily 'puffed up' manner towards each other. The saddest part it is that, although we can understand Lewis' great disappointment when his races, on a number of occasions, come unstuck, more often than not, not due to his error, such as occurred when his engine died on him when he was on his way to winning the race, there is never anything to gain by behaving offhandedly about these things.

The object of more peaceful contemplation.

After all, Lewis and Nico and their Mercedes Team are in a partnership, and, to put it bluntly, if you slapped down your partner, you will create more distrust and dissatisfaction, which you will then have to spend more time and effort making amends for. So, to respond in a stroppy - as opposed to venting your disappointment and frustration in a controlled manner - to the big setbacks you have, is really counter-productive. It results in you and your partners feeling hurt.

The point is, if you are construed as attacking or make insinuations about your team and/or team mate repeatedly, then it could lead to a situation where mistrust could develop and grow; irrespective of how often you later retract or try to diffuse the suspicions which it could lead to. It is better to endeavour to become a master of savoir faire; saying and doing the right thing at the right time, if you like.

Peaceful contemplation has so much to be said for it!

Humility is, in our contemporary competitive and egocentric world, especially in the sports and music and entertainment industries, a virtue which is not being given as much exposure as it deserves. Being 'the winner' has become all the rage; not even 'we are the winners', but 'I am the winner.' Well, of course Lewis and Nico want to be the winner of every Formula 1 race, and to be the winner of each world championship.

Being the great drivers they are, and having the backing of Mercedes behind them, those are not necessarily unrealistic expectations. Although the probability of one of them winning all the races and the world championships consistently, is not high; all things considered. For many of their colleagues, winning a few of the races might be the height of their aspirations.

To be continued.

The purpose of living is to maximise the pleasure we can derive from it, and which we can give to others!
