ENLIGHTENED QATAR VERSUS THE EGYPTIAN AND SAUDI PIRATES ? PART 1.

'When a government deprives its citizens of the right to freely but responsibly express their views,then such a government is risking setting itself against its own people. 

However, when a country or group of countries insist on bullying and forcing another country to forego its sovereign rights and chosen path of development, and become their vassal. 

Then, that is not a demand that any civilised and self-respecting nation can submit itself to do, and still remain master of their own fate. and it become a cause celebre which has to be opposed by any means necessary.'

And yet, such is the fate that Saudi  Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates are trying to mete out to courageous Qatar. 

Which, it seems, irrespective of its own weaknesses, is probably the most enlightened of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the other predominantly Muslim countries.  Whose governments' loyalty and/or silence the Saudis have bought.

Qatar and its people are being subjected to a criminal attempt by, primarily Saudi Arabia and Egypt, to force the Qataris to surrender their sovereignty to them. 

These countries are submitting the Qatar to a powerful to a brutal economic and political siege. 

Somewhat akin to what the United Nations, cajoled by the United States and its allies, have done to Iraq prior to the 2003 invasion, and to Iran and the Russian Federation, more recently. 

What Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies are doing to Qatar and its people, including the thousands of expatriates from many countries who depend on Qatar's economic for their and their families' livelihood. 

Is just several degrees less brutal than if they had invaded Qatar. 

Yes, it is not, so far, resulting in the destruction of lives, livelihood and property, on the scale of Yemen. 

Where Saudi Arabia and its Sunni coalition have decided to use the Sword of Death, to give effect to its intention to have a subservient regime. 

But it could escalate, especially if the Americans and the Western nations, which have made themselves so dependant on Saudi market for their arms.  

Continue to take a passive and deliberately ineffective approach to helping to resolve the crisis.

Especially if they do not loudly declare that, no country, legally or morally, has the right to demand that another should surrender its sovereignty and right to pursue its own policies. When the country being subjected to such demands, do not pose an imminent and exceptional threat to security of the country making the demands.
  

Declare that Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE are committing a crime, within the context of international law, and should desists from doing so.

That what they are doing is tantamount to diplomatic and international piracy. 

Although there has been some encouraging response from some western countries, such as Germany, we are still not hearing the straight talking which should have, by now, become the norm. 

We do not see anybody calling for an urgent convening  of the United Nations Assembly or Security Council. 

Because the West does not want to 'upset' Saudi Arabia. We hear President Trump of America talking about Qatar allegedly supporting 'terrorism.' 

Something which, ironically, is one of the infamous 13 demands - why 13; is there some additional significance to this number - which Saudi Arabia and Egypt have made of Qatar.  

Although it is commonly believed that Saudi Arabia is probably one of the biggest sponsors of terrorism and 'radicalisation' of young Muslims. As a very recent report from the  Henry Jackson Society, has alluded to.
