EUROPE'S REFUGEE PROBLEM AND HOW IT COULD BE RESOLVE! PART 1.

'When people perceive themselves to be, or have been told that they are in danger, they might respond rashly, by acting in ways which do not provide them with appropriate protection.

And later find that they have opted for  options which leave them more exposed to further or continuing danger.

In such situations, the role and responsibility of prudent leadership is at a premium.'

Europe has a big refugee and migrant problem, which needs to solve in a reasonable manner.

This requires carefully thought out planning and organisation. Something which it can be very difficult to achieve, when there is such great pressure on the involved governments.

To act now and take action which immediately or will quickly show significant changes in the situation.

On the whole, it seems accurate to say that, Europe, especially the poorer and less endowed countries, such as Greece and Italy.

Has responded admirably in receiving the refugees and migrants from the Middle East, Asia and Africa, and provide them with alot of hospitality.

Germany has, under Angela Merkel, also demonstrated probably exceptional hospitality towards the refugees and migrants.

Notwithstanding the fact that the Germans have, at least initially, been rather unwelcoming.

Indeed, this is still the case to some extent, with the AFD party declaring its steadfast opposition to Angela Merkel's government's approach towards addressing the problem.

France also has been receptive towards the refugees and the migrants, but, it seems, more so by way of tolerating poorly managed 'transit camps' at Calais.

Probably in the unrealised hope that most of them would be able to make their way, by fair or foul means, to Britain on the opposite shore.

Britain, of course, has been able to escape much of the impact which her mainland EU colleagues have experienced.

With comparatively much less refugees and migrants making their way across the English Channel. The joys of being a far away island.

Whereas the older and more liberal members of the European Union have have, on the whole, taken or tried to take a more measured approach towards dealing with the refugee/migrant crisis.

Some of the newer and not so new ones, like Hungary, have been more forthright in taking a racist and uncompromising approach.

Probably based on the fact that the refugees/migrants are largely of different ethnicity and religion from them. Not white and not Christians.

Which is probably why we have recently seen the Hungarian Prime Minister, Victor Orban, cynically appearing to sympathise with the Egyptian President, Al Sisi, over Egypt's refugee problem.

In an attempt to deny the racist and Islamophobic elements of Hungary's attitude towards the refugees/migrants.

These countries have resorted to building physical and attitudinal barriers, to prevent the refugees and migrants getting into and/or remaining in their countries.

A situation which is somewhat tempered by the fact that, in probably all of the involved and impacted countries of Europe.

There have been ordinary, compassionate citizens who have and are continuing to take action provide some measure of hospitality for the refugees/migrants.

To be continued.
