MNANGAGWA PRESIDENT OF ZIMBABWE; PREDATOR BECOME GAME KEEPER. SOURCE OF DESPAIR OR OF HOPE? PART 1!

He has done it; Emmerson Mnangagwa is the new President of Zimbabwe, which, until Grace Mugabe outdid herself by conspiring him,was probably intended as the logical heir apparent to Mugabe!

 Not surprisingly, Mnangagwa, the new temporary President, cashing in on the genuine euphoria and apparent spirit of forgiveness.  which is washing over much, if not all of Zimbabwe, is promising to facilitate the provision of all that Zimbabweans are asking and hoping. 

 He is promising to be the harbinger of the hope of aNew Era of peace and prosperity for the country. 

 The creator of thousands of new jobs, which, he must be hoping, is going to be accumulated from him opening the country to foreign investors, both private, public and governmental investors. 

He will be hoping that the Chinese will do much to assist him in this endeavour, as they have done in supporting the liberation struggle in the past.

 It does seem that the people of Zimbabwe, at least, many of them, are, probably even against their better judgement.  Wanting, willing to believe that Mnangagwa is some kind of Biblical Saul. 

 Who is capable of and is willing to change from the man he has been for the past 37 or so years.  And transform himself into a more altruistic person. 

 One who is more committed to serving the interests of the people and nation of Zimbabwe.

Well, truth to tell, Emmerson Mnangagwa might well have the capability and willingness to undertake such a challenge. 

 Which, of course, does not mean that he would be successful. He certainly has the incentive to do so. 

 He will want to prove himself and to the nation that he is capable of being a better Zimbabwean than the one he has been for the past decades. 

 Nobody should be surprise by the fact that he will certainly have the scope to realise some of this potential.

 And yet, it is not simply a matter of whether or not Emmerson Mnangagwa should be allowed the opportunity to pursue his 'Damascusion conversion', from 'sinner' to 'saint.' 
It is also about him having become so inextricably implicated in the corruption, repression, brutality and economic, social and political failures of the past. That his credibility has been rubbished.

 Is it any wonder that he is reported as having exhorted Zimbabweans to 'let bygones be bygones'? 

 Yes, one can well understand why and how the new President of Zimbabwe, even as he lauded the supposed merits of the man he has usurped; Robert Mugabe.  

 Would want the people of Zimbabwe to become amnesiac about the past. And his role in helping to make it the dreadful past it has been.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better. So, if life were a bitch and then we die, need we say or do or think anymore of the matter?
