JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON SOUTH AFRICA AND THE POST-LIBERATION PARADOX OR CURSE.! PART 2.

Yes, it is the case that South Africans of Indian and White backgrounds did join the ANC.

So, we not have the ANC leading this potentially, yes, let us say, great nation, supposedly towards realising its 'greatness.' But it is being bogged down in its and the country's own internal contradictions.

The ANC is not sufficiently equipping itself for the on going struggle which needs to be fought in South Africa, by all South Africans.

Too many of its elites are already indulging in plundering the nation's 'treasury.'

For them, they have now assumed power, and their current objectives are those of enriching themselves and holding on to the 'golden goose.'

And, if they have to be machiavellianistic in doing so, by exploiting the tensions between the different ethnic populations, then, so be it.

Which their incompetence and reneging on the ANC's former vision for South Africa, risk starving to death. As ZANU-PF's elites in Zimbabwe have succeeded in doing.

If the ANC, if it is to be successful in what is, indeed, the most critical phase of building a South Africa which is economically, politically and socially successful, and is not blighted by racial tensions and conflicts.

A challenge which, if it is to be successfully lead by the ANC, would require it to change its name to better reflect those aspirations. And not continue to institutionalise racial exclusivism in its name.

As we look around us, we find that we are inundated with examples of governments which have morphed out of former liberation movements. But which have failed and continue to fail to provide 'their people' with the freedom and prosperity they promised them.

As they soon find out that, freeing the people from their local and national oppressors, is not the same thing as freeing them from poverty, from unemployment, and from the exclusion of the 'better life' they dreamt of, or from the 'global oppressors', who work in tandem with the national ones. Unless we should speak of the elites amongst the 'liberators.'

To be continued!
