JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON RUSSIA'S SEARCH FOR HER PLACE IN A WARY WORLD. PART 2.

The 'Russian soul', arguably', is a unique one which has evolved out of its unique Russian habitat. 

It might be misunderstood and/or viewed with fear and intolerance by other people and nations. 

And yet, its character is probably what has enabled it to survive and prosper in the conditions in which it lives. 

The 'Russian soul' might not be as  mixed or multi-layered  as 'The Euro-American soul. ' 

Which has accommodated and assimilated the various influences of particular European countries from which the Euro-American hails. 

Something which could prove both a strength and/or weakness of the 'Russian soul.' 

It is a characteristic which will has helped to give birth to the many renown Russian writers, such as Solzhenitsyn, Tolstoy and others. 

And to Russia's contribution towards the advancement of science, technology, sports, human political and intellectual development.

When I speak of the 'uniqueness' of the 'Russian soul', there are those who might interpret it in a nationalistic and pseudo 'racial purity context. 

Some nationalistic Russians might take a somewhat perverse sense of 'racial pride' in the fact that they are 'not as mixed as the Euro-Americans. 

But that is not what I am about. I see no great benefit in 'racial purity', not least because it is something which might be conducive to the survival of that 'race.'  

And the fact that, all the apparently 'different peoples' of the 'human race', unlike our many gods and religious and philosophical beliefs, evolves from the same spring of life. 

It is mostly our fears and our diverse beliefs which sets us apart.

So, returning to the question of how Russians might be feeling at present. In the light of the almost consensus of the political leadership of Western Europe, and much of Eastern Europe.  

That 'Russia represents a real and imminent danger to the world, in general, and to Europe, specifically'.
