JUST A THOUGHT - ON SALUTING THE MEMORY OF MADIBA NELSON MANDELA, AND THE FOLLY OF EXPECTING MIRACLES! THE END..

This is probably it is no easy matter living the live of  a living hero. It surely is the case that it is easier to be a dead hero than a living one.

Since it is likely to be no more than a matter of time, before all heroes  are revealed as no more than mere mortal.

It is thin boundary separates a national hero from becoming failed national leader.

They are, or could be, just different sides of the same coin.

As we have seen from Robert Mugabe, from Daniel Ortega, Eduardo dos Santos  to some extent, from Fidel Castro, Nicolas Maduro, Jacob Zuma, et al.

It is said that the 'good die young', but, if that is so, although both the good and the bad die at all ages. Then, the good reputation of heroes is likely to become more compromised the longer they live.

Probably mostly because of the improbability of them being able to satisfy the expectations which the masses place on them.  To transform their undesirable conditions and realities, into more favourable ones.

As esteemed as Nelson Mandela was, it is likely that the masses would have become disenchanted with him and his capacity to transform their lives.

To work the miracles they would have expected him to cause to happen.

It would have been so, because, it is the people who much transform their social conditions.  With the prudent leadership of their government and all those who power and or the responsibility to provide them with such leadership.

As we reflect on the memory of Madiba Nelson Mandela and his 'rainbow' vision for South African and its people.  We should know that that dream is still alive and well.

While it remain in the hearts and minds of South Africans, and is attested to, in how they go about committing themselves to realising it.

However desirable a dream is, it can deteriorate into a nightmare, if the people become infatuated with it, and do not work unrelentingly and wisely to convert it into a reality.

Long live Madiba's dream, and may the people remain committed to realising it!
