JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW 'FAILING COUNTRIES' IN THE AMERICAS CANNOT RESOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS BY RETURNING TO THE 'OLD WAYS.' THE END...!

And negotiating appropriate national, regional and international viable policies, and agreements. 

Which are likely to achieve a greater and fairer distribution and redistribution of their individual and collective resources and wealth.

It is not a situation which can be remedied by the Bolsonaros and the Trumps of the world. Their proposed and tried solutions are destined to make the situation worse; much worse than it already is.

After all, it is clear that the existing social, political and economic order or systems are no longer, if ever they were, appropriate for meeting the demands which are being made upon them. 

Which is that they should be meeting the needs of all the people, to an adequate extent. And not just the needs of the top 1 and 6 per cent of the world's population. 

That the people living in the western and northern hemisphere should be able to continue to live in their current or more affluent life-styles. 

While those in the southern hemisphere continue to live in increasing poverty and destitution.

Of course, if this is to be the vision which affluent and often venal leaders of the world have for humanity. 

Then, of course, the methods, the brutality and suppression of the poor and poorer classes.  

And of they who are struggling for a more egalitarian vision of the future, by the likes of the Bonosaros of the world, is likely to be needed. 

Because, the objective will no longer be about 'maintaining law and order', but about 'protecting the existing order of things.' 

Keeping the existing ineffective socio-economic and political order going, albeit with the 'life-support' of increased brutal force by the state.

The better future which all or most of us aspire towards, is predicated upon all or most of us realising that the 'self-interest' of others, are all our 'self-interest', and that we only realise our 'self-interest' by finding a way which meets all our common self-interests.
