Does it not? And so it is, at times, with my dear mother, who, of more recent times, does appear to becoming more accepting of and resigned to her increasing limitations.  

 And of how her dependence on others increases commensurately.

Neither is it the case, it appears, that changes in her cognitive functioning has to be permanent, as opposed to being temporary or be an indication of her 'good days' and 'bad days' cycle.

Imagine, for example, if you will, my pleasant amazement when, only a few weeks ago, my dear mother, having recently returned home from a short spell of hospitalisation.  


Informed me that the late night, early morning banging on her door and telephone calls, have stopped. 

 The fact that, more recently, she has informed me that the early morning banging on her front door has begun again.  

 Does concern me, but it is evidence of the fluctuations she experiences in her cognitive functioning. 

 As time progressed and cerebral cells become less reproductive and less efficient in their processing of thoughts and drawing of correct conclusions.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better. But, at least the Palestinians were alive, they had their homes, their roads, water, electricity, the basic requirements for having at least a basic life.  They had more freedom of movement in their 'reservations' than they have now, with the storm troopers crawling over and around them as so many wasps.  So, yes, it is likely that, for the majority of Palestinians who are being forced to pay the price the Zionist Israeli State has decided to extract from them, the attack of 7th October might be considered to have been a tactical mistake by Hamas and the other Resistance Fighters.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before? So, if life were a bitch and then we die, need we say or do or think anymore of the matter? If life were a bitch and then we die, might we not surmise that it be our duty to screw life before we die, that we might gain some small pleasure, some small satisfaction from our life the life we live, before we die? But of course, some of us might as some point, consider that it is life which screws the living and not the living who does the screwing. And, in the knowledge that the term screwing can have an ambivalent meaning, in that it can mean participating in an event from which we derive pleasure, as well as being used as a pejorative term of abuse.  So it is that life and living can be both pleasurable and miserable to us who are required to endure it.
