JUST A THOUGHT ON - THE POWER OF OUR FEARS! FINIS!

Most of them, such as being murdered, being impacted by conflicts and wars, having our loved ones being harmed by others, having our possessions taken forcefully from us, arising from the actions of our own species. 

And then there are the fears of placed in harms way by wild animals, tsunamis, famine, droughts, tornadoes wild fires and storms.
And so it seems to me, that, the greatest of the fears that have power over us humans, is not really the 'fear of 'God', as 'God' has no independent power over us humans. 



Rather, the fears having the greatest power over us are those which are invested in our fellow humans. It is humans who are able to cause us most pain and suffering, through our actions and our failure to act wisely.

 and which we are more prone to label as superstitions. 

Even though some of them should probably carry more weight, more credibility than, say, the belief in 'God' and that 'God' punishes and/or rewards humans for their behaviour. 

After all, when it is so clear that our mortal bodies can undoubtedly be subjected to great pain which then causes us great mental anguish.  


Why should we then further torture ourselves, by imagining that we, who would then be without bodies through which pain can be inflicted. 

Would then still be touchable  by an even greater infliction of pain? Why such contorted and disingenuous logic with which to continue to exert the power of fear over and on us humans? 

 Even as the real and perceived fear of Coronavirus, powerfully blights our lives?

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before? So, if life were a bitch and then we die, need we say or do or think anymore of the matter? If life were a bitch and then we die, might we not surmise that it be our duty to screw life before we die, that we might gain some small pleasure, some small satisfaction from our life the life we live, before we die? But of course, some of us might as some point, consider that it is life which screws the living and not the living who does the screwing. And, in the knowledge that the term screwing can have an ambivalent meaning, in that it can mean participating in an event from which we derive pleasure, as well as being used as a pejorative term of abuse.  So it is that life and living can be both pleasurable and miserable to us who are required to endure it.
