However, there are times when it is not only down to what happens on the circuit or track that determines which driver and team wins a race, even barring the unmistakeable intervention of the gods.

And so it was in this case, that, although Hamilton would have probably definitely witn the Russian Grand Prix.

He could not have done so, on this occasion, with the damaging impact of a F1A imposed penalty of two 5 seconds stops.

For infringement of track rules during practicing. And so it was that, Lewis Hamilton did not lost the Russian Grand Prix on the track or circuit, and neither did he lost it during the race.

He lost it off the track and during the Practice session.

That is why he was equivocal about predicting his race outcome, after Qualifying.

And it is also why, understandably, he was a bit disgruntled during and after the race and, momentarily allowed his emotions to prevail.

By appearing infer that FIA officials wanted to impede his record-breaking progression.

This, however, is unlikely to be more than just a delaying of the inevitable; of Hamilton equalling and surpassing Schumacher's records.

And thus is patience called for, as we await the next opportunity for him to do so.

Roll on the German Grand Prix, when, all things being equal, Hamilton will break yet another record, in his still relentless pursuit of the things he has been fated to achieve during his life.

A person can no more fail to deliver his/her fate, any more than any of us can avoid our common destiny.
