JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - RUSSIA'S INVASION OF AND ATTEMPT TO SUBJUGATE UKRAINE AND ITS PEOPLE. PART 8.

 

Seemingly, what 'friendship with Russia' means, would be that Russia capitulate to the West and adopt its world view of itself, the West, and its mission for the world.

Having said that, the current approach which the Russian government, or, more specifically, its apparent delusional President, is arguably an even more catastrophic strategy. 

Since it is an approach which President Putin is insisting on implementing irrespective of the cost. 

And without due regard to its cost in human lives - whether Russian or Ukrainian - and destruction of cities, towns, villages, infrastructures and livelihoods. 

Put simply, President Putin is waging an horrendous war with little or no consideration or concern about its devastating impact on Russians, Ukrainians or anybody else. 

He has adopted an approach which is at odds with what has come to be accepted as 'civilized and humane behaviour' in the 21st Century world. 

Now, is that not the kind of unconscionable and nihilistic medieval attitude and behaviour we would expect of "the Ukrainian Nazis." Whom President Putin, unconvincingly, has cited as part of his rationale for unleashing Hell on the Russian and Ukrainian people?

Does it not put the President on par with Hitler's Nazis?

Are we to assume that this could be an extreme case of President Putin, as the embodiment of the Russian nation which has survived past invasions by foreign powers, such as France and Germany. 

Having become identified and adopting the worldview of the  invaders and, in psychotic state of catharsis, venting his nation's repressed trauma on the Ukrainians and Russians?

Of course it is the curse of our human species that, of all the different species of animals inhabiting the earth, none of them is a deadly and sadistic as ours. 

Our human species is prone to violence and tremendous amount of it. It is on violence, bloody, self-inflicted violence on which our history is built upon. 

Yes, those of us who are aware of our past, are also aware of this fact.
