  Anyway, I tried to determine whether my dear mother was able to follow what I had read her, by asking her which prophet I was reading about.  She was not able, or rather, did not give me sufficient information to convince me that she understood it enough to retain any sense from it.  The impression I get, when I reflect upon my cognitive or intellectual interactions, is that she is now predominantly occupying a state of passivity or passive participation. She will rarely initiate taking or discussions.  It is as if she never has anything to say. She looks but says little of her own volition, and is not much assisted by prompts and encouragement.   I get the bit about the pleasure and happiness of giving birth to ones own babies, of having cute and adorable babies and children.
